Description

Rally for Recovery 2013

Saturday, September 21, 2013 is Rally for Recovery! day all across the nation and the world. Faces & Voices of Recovery has selected Rally4Recovery in Providence, RI as this year's national hub event. We are also working with local and state recovery community organizations and allies to hold marches, walks, town-hall meetings, picnics and other events all on the same day as part of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. We will be live streaming from many of these events, stay tuned for details!

Rally for Recovery Online! Add the number of years you've been in recovery to our online recovery tally. Help us raise the national profile of the recovery community by sending us media coverage, photos and any other highlights of your Rally.

Our 2013 goal is for 120,000 people to turn out for recovery across the nation as part of Rally for Recovery! At the events, people in recovery, their families, friends and allies are encouraged to participate in civic life through voter registration and education and celebrate their growing visibility. Each event reflects the interests of organizers, frequently combining family activities like face painting, music and great food with advocacy activities like walks around the State Capitol and opportunities to meet and speak with elected officials. Our growing numbers are drawing the attention of elected officials!

And this September we have a unique opportunity to get the word out to the recovery community about signing up for health insurance starting October 1st. Join us in advocating for the right to recover from addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
