Program Description
Project Safe Point provides syringe exchange via a mobile unit at two locations in the City of Albany: Corner of Bassett and Dongan Streets M-W-F from 10:00 to 1:00 and Corner of N. Swan and Ten Broeck Pl T-TH from 12:00 to 3:00. Exchange is also available at other locations throughout the Capital Region by appointment. Safer injection and disposal supplies are distributed through the exchange at the mobile unit and by appointment. Peer-delivered exchange and overdose prevention are also available. Call (518) 449-3581 for more information. Project safe Point also provides pharmacy based access to free syringes through a syringe voucher program. Individuals can obtain a voucher which can be redeemed at participating pharmacies for up to ten new syringes and a pre-filled bag of supplies. Participating pharmacies are located in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Amsterdam, Oneonta, Catskill, Johnstown and Hudson. Call (518) 449-3581 for more information.
