Program Description
Treatment groups are set up according to the client's stage of recovery. Complete abstinence is required only for the treatment groups. In psychoeducational groups, client must be clean and sober only when attending group.; Provides culturally safe mental wellness and addiction programs free of charge to Aboriginal adults and children ages four to 18. Services include counselling for individuals, groups, and children and youth, outreach, and education. Offers men's and women's wellness groups, and an elders' support group. A concurrent disorders support circle provides support around mental wellness and addiction issues for men and women. Nutritional snacks and bus tickets available. Primarily serves Vancouver. Working with other community agencies, addresses social justice issues through education and advocacy so that urban Aboriginal people receive excellence in service. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
