Our approach is holistic and aims to identify and consider the facilitating and impeding factors impacting the family at each level, and to provide participants with information, strategies, and skills to enhance or change these factors in order to maximize the role of the Hispanic family as a system of drug treatment and prevention for children and adolescents. The purpose of this conference is to improve practice by raising participant awareness of the importance of cultural elements in the establishment of effective drug and alcohol prevention and treatment among the Hispanic/Latino population.
