“Innovations in Recovery” is a new behavioral health conference designed to keep treatment professionals on the leading edge of unique approaches and essential therapeutic skill sets. Hosted by Foundations Recovery Network, a proactive leader in integrated treatment education, “Innovations in Recovery” focuses on breaking down barriers, tackling tough issues and defining specific approaches for specialty populations.

David Sheff
David Sheff is the author of Clean: Overcoming Addiction and Ending America’s Greatest Tragedy, the follow-up to his New York Times #1 bestseller, Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction. Clean is the result of the years Sheff spent investigating the disease of addiction and America’s drug problem, which he sees as the greatest public health challenge of our time. In 2009, David was named to the Time 100, Time Magazine’s list of the World’s Most Influential People.

Mackenzie Phillips
Mackenzie Phillips, daughter of John Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas and known for her roles in American Graffiti, One Day at a Time and So Weird, discusses helping others in recovery once our own personal addictions have ceased. Mackenzie’s struggles with addiction have been well-documented in her bestselling book High On Arrival and in the media. She now uses her past experiences to help others and offer hope to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction.

Noah Levine
Noah Levine, author of Dharma Punx, Against the Stream, and The Heart of the Revolution is a Buddhist teacher, author and counselor. He was trained to teach by Jack Kornfield of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, Calif., and holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology. Noah is the founding teacher of Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society with a center in Los Angeles and over 20 affiliated groups around North America. He teaches meditation classes, workshops and retreats internationally.

Francine Shapiro
Dr. Francine Shapiro is the originator and developer of EMDR therapy, which has been designated as an effective trauma treatment by a wide range of organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organization. She is a Senior Research Fellow Emeritus at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, Director of the EMDR Institute, and founder of the non-profit EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs. Dr. Shapiro has authored numerous publications about EMDR therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols and Procedures.
