Dr. Mark Gold is the Donald Dizney Eminent Scholar, Distinguished Professor and Chair of Psychiatry. Recently, he has also been selected as the University of Florida’s Distinguished Alumni Professor. In addition to writing nearly 1,000 peer review scientific articles, he has written high impact books, treatment manuals, and chapters. From the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA 272:18, 1996): “Mark S. Gold, M.D., the most prolific and brilliant
of the addiction experts writing today… Dr. Gold hasspent his career trying to bridge the gap in medical education and practice with the belief that addictions are diseases and that all physicians have a critical role in prevention and, if that fails, in early identification and prompt treatment.”

Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Dr. Clark leads the agency’s efforts to provide effective and accessible treatment to all Americans with addictive disorders. His areas of expertise include methadone maintenance, pain management, psychopharmacology, and medical and legal issues. He has received numerous awards, including a 2008 President of the United States Rank of Distinguished Executive Award and the 2008 John P. McGovern Award from the American Society of Addiction Medicine for his contributions toward increased understanding of the relationship between addiction and society. He is also a noted author, clinician, teacher and spokesperson in the field of addiction and forensic psychiatry.

Dr. Anand Mehendale is Board Certified in Neurology, and Addiction Medicine. He is in private practice of Neurology in Kerrville, Texas. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of the Ranch at Clear Springs, and the Managing Partner of Phoenix Monitoring Systems. He has been a pioneer and a visionary in Texas regarding physician health issues including Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) for over 25 years and currently sits on the board of Texas Physician Health Program In 2010, 2011, and 2012 he was selected as one of the “Super Doctors” by Texas Monthly. Less than 5 percent of the state’s doctors are on that list.

Dr. Abi Williams has been in the addictions treatment field for over 25 years. Her clinical expertise, leadership skills and work with recovering families has earned her an exemplary reputation in Texas. Dr. Williams is a certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist. She specializes in family systems focused therapy in the treatment of codependency, substance abuse, and process addictions.
