IN OBSERVANCE OF HEPATITIS AWARENESS MONTH JOIN THE MAINE HARM REDUCTION ALLIANCE FOR THEIR THIRD ANNUAL MAINE HARM REDUCTION CONFERENCE!!!

May is Hepatitis Awareness Month. This silent epidemic is a major concern and a growing issue throughout the U.S. and Maine. Recent surveys of persons who inject drugs (PWID) indicate that one third of young PWID are infected with Hepatitis C. Older and former PWID typically have an even higher prevalence (70%-90%), reflecting the increased risk of continued drug use.

The philosophy and practice of harm reduction works by helping to reduce the harm resulting from intravenous drug use and other risky behaviors. This includes reducing cases of Hepatitis C, HIV and other blood borne pathogens and injection related injuries.

Help the Maine Harm Reduction Alliance( MEHRA) combat the spread of Hepatitis C. Join us for the third annual Maine Harm Reduction Conference.
