On behalf of Floridians for Recovery, I want to invite you, your staff, Board members, clients, and alumni to participate in this year's second annual REEL Recovery Film Festival-South Florida. This unique event is going to be held November 8-10 in Delray Beach, FL.

The festival is held annually in top cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Vancouver - to name a few - and showcases "REEL" films that depict the consequences and struggle of addiction. The goal is to raise awareness on the impact of addiction and the resiliency of recovery. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the development of a recovery voice in our state.

This event has been generously supported by many of your partners and friends in South Florida. We are thankful to all the sponsors, and especially to this year's title sponsor: Unity Recovery Group.

The REEL Recovery Film Festival has partnered with the prestigious U.S. Journal for the opening night at the Delray Beach Marriott November 8. The remaining two days will be held at The Movies of Delray to accommodate a larger crowd. Special guests include New York Times best-selling author Leslie Glass, whose movie, The Silent Majority (featured on PBS) will be shown on November 9 and filmmaker Richard Jackson, whose movie Women's Stories will be featured on November 10.

The showing of featured films and the times for each showing can be found here, including the blockbuster hit Flight, starring Denzel Washington, along with other movies by mega stars Minnie Driver and Russell Brand. We invite you to come watch one or several of these films.

You can help make this event a success. Please print out the 2013 REEL Recovery Film Festival: South Florida poster(11x17) and display one in each of your treatment centers. Also, please pass this communication on to your staff and encourage them to attend. Finally, attending with your patients will provide topics for conversation during treatment and recovery support groups.

We are asking for a donation of $5 for admission, however, no one will be turned away. Thank you so much for your efforts in combating substance use disorders and supporting recovery.
