A House of Hope
The McCoy house for Sober Living for Women is an elegant two story southern plantation style home nestled on three wooded acres which offers a tranquil place for women to reflect on the past, live in the present and plan for the future.

It provides a safe and secure place to start the lifelong journey of recovery. Emphasis is placed on unity within the home, working a twelve step program, and being responsible and self-supporting.

The home is fully furnished with hardwood floors throughout, five spacious bedrooms and four bathrooms. The home offers three large comfortable living rooms and a large fully equipped modern kitchen, separate laundry room which overlooks garden and patio.

The front of the house has an expansive brick porch with Doric columns where residents can sit and relax overlooking the landscaped property.

Our Philosophy

At The McCoy House, we understand that the road to lasting recovery is not easy or effortless. Many of us would like to believe that once we got a glimpse of living a clean and sober life, the self destructive behaviors would be gone and our journey would continue free of struggle and pain.

In recovery, we learn that we have to live life one day at a time while continuously facing challenges and move through many issues in order to live a healthy and happy life. The McCoy House is a safe home for women who are looking for a safe, comfortable environment that is conducive to both personal and spiritual growth.

How We Work

The McCoy House is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where residents are restored to healthy living by providing a safe and positive atmosphere.  Our shared housing environment ultimately enables residents to lead responsible and productive lives without the use of alcohol, drugs, or other self destructive behaviors.

Our House

The McCoy House is a beautiful plantation style house located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Jackson, Mississippi. Offering luxurious housing accommodations and upscale amenities which include: fully equipped modern kitchen, breakfast room with French-doors leading to patio, meditation room overlooking landscaped garden, two spacious living rooms with fireplaces, five large bedrooms with double beds, four bathrooms and large dressing room with double vanity.

The house offers: large screen television with cable, wireless internet access, private phone line, full laundry facility and ample parking. Also provide are: bedding, linens, towels, dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware and cleaning supplies.

The outside area has an expansive red brick porch overlooking landscaped property, back yard patio, lounge chairs, BBQ grill, fountain, bird baths and feeders and multiple sitting areas located throughout the property.

The Benefits

The McCoy House is an immaculate well maintained dwelling with a strong peer support system. It offers a stable living environment where residents have the opportunity to seek employment, continue their education, focus on personal goals, accountability and spiritual growth.    

The house is centrally located with easy access to treatment centers, hospitals, fitness facilities, shops, restaurants, the Ross Barnett Reservoir and the beautiful scenic Natchez Trace. There is a zero tolerance policy on use of drugs, alcohol or other addictive behaviors. Adherence to this policy is monitored by an on site house manager.

The only requirements are:
• Maintain sobriety
• Rent accountability
• Attend twelve step meetings
• Attend weekly house meetings
• Submit random drug tests
• Abide by household rules

What is A Sober Living House?

A Sober Living House is a supportive clean and drug free facility where people practice healthy living skills. Clients living in this environment are expected to not only remain drug and alcohol free but abstain from any type of addictive behavior such as gambling, spending, sexual promiscuity, eating disorders etc. Typically, when a person has completed treatment or rehabilitation program, they are referred to a sober living house. This house serves as a transitional living environment in between treatment and living on your own or returning to your prior residence.

Many persons who seek to live in a sober living house do not necessarily come from a treatment program. They may be simply seeking, for a variety of reasons, to live, for a period of time, in a supportive clean and sober environment. This house serves as a transitional living environment in between treatment, independent living or returning home.
