Program Narrative
Provides medically supervised methadone maintenance and Suboxone (buprenorphine) detox treatment to individuals who are attempting to overcome an addiction to or dependence upon heroin or other opioids. Methadone hydrochloride is a synthetic "opioid agonist," which means that it acts in a way that is similar to morphine and other narcotic medications. When used in proper doses as part of a medically supervised opioid addiction treatment program, methadone blocks cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
