Program Description

Imagine a world in which everyone feels safe and at peace, where every parent and child, every friend and foe, every customer and business owner, every citizen and policymaker demonstrates kindness to one another. We at Cape Cod PATH aim to bring us closer to this vision by addressing the exploitation of our fellow human beings.

Known also as modern slavery, human trafficking is virtually everywhere around the globe, including on Cape Cod. In the U.S., human trafficking exists largely in the form of sex trafficking and labor trafficking. It affects American citizens and foreign nationals alike, regardless of their socio-economic status, race, gender or sexual orientation.

Bright spots of hope do emerge when we search for solutions to end trafficking, as in a program that reached 100% success in a village in Indonesia. How did villagers in a remote East Javan village, with barely any resources, manage to prevent a single trafficking case from recurring and to avert twenty attempts in their village? One of the tools they used was an education and awareness campaign that broke the taboo about discussing sex trafficking in the community.

Learning from such successful models and adapting them to the local context help us at Cape Cod PATH to develop solutions to complex problems like human trafficking. Our strategic, local solutions are informed by evidence-based assessments of local needs and incorporate a design that emphasizes multi-disciplinary collaboration with community partners.

We appreciate your caring to stop by our website, and we invite you to join us in our effort to turn Cape Cod into another trafficking-free zone in the world.
