NJ DRUG & ALCOHOL TREATMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our partial care, intensive outpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs are designed for three groups of people: adults, adolescents, and professionals.

The road to recovery is an ongoing process. After you complete your stay, we will carefully coordinate aftercare by working with our extensive network of addiction specialists across the United States. We will identify an appropriate aftercare program in your area and work with you to develop and implement strategies to prevent relapse.

Outcome studies over the years have revealed that clients who participate in ongoing monitoring programs after treatment have the greatest chance of maintaining abstinence. These services are mandatory for many healthcare professionals, pilots, transportation workers and other employees. This added incentive provides a much-needed boost in relapse prevention. Advanced Health and Education believes these services should be incorporated into an aftercare plan for our clients who are serious about recovering. We offer these services through our Alumni Association and case managers with whom we have relationships.

INTAKE

Intake is often the first interaction between the patient and our clinical personnel. Our admissions team conducts an interview to determine the severity of addiction, drug use history and family history. These factors help determine the best treatment plan. At this time we also begin to coordinate the insurance process and make financial arrangements.

TREATMENT

Once a patient is admitted into our program they begin the treatment part of the recovery process. The average length of stay in our program is typically between 30-60 days. Patients learn to identify the reasons driving their addiction, and constructively address these issues. The goal of treatment is to teach a new way of living without drugs or alcohol.

Each patient is assigned to a counselor for individual therapy. The counselor will help identify and address the underlying drivers of addiction, provide relapse prevention strategies, and create a sustainable long term plan for the patient.

In addition to individual therapy we also offer group counseling sessions. It is important that patients understand they are not alone in their struggle. Group therapy can provide inspiration and a support network, all of which is critical to the recovery process.

We also offer a family program specifically designed for families of those affected by addiction. Family members discuss how they have been impacted by their loved ones addiction, and work to resolve issues so they don’t resurface when the patient leaves treatment. The family’s desire to see their loved one succeed and live a healthy life is encouraging to the patient.

RECOVERY

Recovery doesn’t end with the completion of a treatment program; it’s a lifelong process. Continued support is essential to avoid relapse. Our counselors work with every patient for an aftercare plan. They discuss a variety of options including 12-step groups, sober living homes, continued therapy sessions, and sober life coaches.

Sober living homes are a common next step after completing treatment. They provide a family like atmosphere where residents have the opportunity to live among other recovering individuals. Sober living homes often have job programs to help residents find employment, and offer drug testing to ensure a sober house.

12 Step groups such Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous (AA or NA, respectively) are offered in almost every city nationwide. They are free of charge, and are the most widely accessible recovery networks. AA and NA offer group therapy in a relaxed community based setting.

For questions about the recovery process, or if you or someone you love needs help with their addiction, please call our 24-hour call center for more information at (888) 982-2346.
