The healthcare and behavioral health professions recognize the increasing importance of addressing spirituality as a part of a holistic approach to clinical care. This presentation focuses on empirically based reasons for why the integration of spirituality in psychological care is imperative to providing effective treatment for those suffering from eating disorders, addiction, trauma, mood disorders and more. It will also discuss different ways in which spirituality is integrated into clinical practice. A more holistic approach to treatment will be examined and clinicians will learn practical methods for spiritual assessment and intervention to help clients strengthen spiritually.
