Date 10/31/2012 ABOUT THIS WEBINAR: Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based practice that combines pharmacological interventions with substance abuse counseling and social support. The results of implementing MAT with Vivitrol have been significant. Clients receiving Vivitrol injections have reported: reduced drinking days, continuation of treatment, increased independent living, improved employment, and decreased recidivism. Additionally, the reliance on costly services has been reduced, as well as the cost for treatment. With such strong results, the Department's Substance Abuse Mental Health Program Office, along with its partners, plans to continue supporting the use of MAT with Vivitrol well into the future. This webinar will present research data on the use of Vivitrol as well as Florida data and other State's data regarding best practices (3-4 injections in conjunction with counseling/therapy) and the positive outcomes associated with Vivitrol.
