2015 R4R Event Recap

Sunday, October 18, a beautiful, sunny morning, runners and walkers of all ages and athletic ability gathered at the Al Lopez Park to participate in the inaugural Run 4 Recovery to benefit WestBridge. Runners and walkers alike experienced beautiful views of the lakes and nature in Al Lopez Park. It was our pleasure to have participants from all over come to together and create an electric energy. Our top three female and male finishers received medals and a gift card from Fit2Run. We also had a dog costume contest, which was a hoot! The event ended with smiling faces and the sun shining bright. For this was truly a perfect day for the Run 4 Recovery. Join us for this year for  WestBridge’s  Second Annual Run 4 Recovery 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 24th, 2016. Select from a 5K (3.1 mile) Run or Walk or 1 Mile Walk route at the beautiful Al Lopez Park. Our courses are paved, flat and fast with scenic views of the lakes contained in the park. Our event is family-oriented and dog friendly, however we ask that your dog remain under your supervision and on leash throughout the duration of our event. You may run or walk with a stroller, but we ask you to respectfully stay toward the back of the start corral as to avoid tripping of other participants. Dogs may run with you, but again they must be on a leash and under your strict supervision. We will host kid-friendly activities at the playground and host a best dressed dog costume contest by the dog park, both are contained in our event area of the park.

WestBridge’s mission is to promote the recovery of adults and families living with co-occurring substance use disorders and psychotic and/or affective illness over the course of a lifetime.

Our event is a fundraiser and proceeds from the event will support WestBridge’s Recovery Opportunity Fund, which provides extended care for families currently receiving recovery services and further support them throughout the course of a lifetime.

Event Details:

Every participant will receive an official Run 4 Recovery event dry fit short-sleeved t-shirt. We guarantee t-shirt sizes to the first 250 checked-in participants.

Light refreshments will be provided and a water station will be available along the course.
