I have been trying to understand addiction and why one has an addictive personality. Your article has validity to me. I believe i suffered from a thyroid condition and when i began menopause i became depressed, manic, combative..and thought this is the point that one either becomes suicidal or goes on drugs.. By completely detoxing myself i became more aware of what plants, herbs, spices could help heal my thyroid and balance my hormone levels. i wish they would model detox facilities by not feeding them sugar, cigarettes and coffee but instead have chefs prepare vegtables with spices and infusing ph water with herbs..
