Nurture versus nature has been the question that has been the subject of countless scientific studies and debates over the decades. This video clearly illustrates that substance use/abuse and addiction belong in the nature arena and that the behavioral patterns associated with the simian substance abuser are nearly identical to those of humans. Take a moment to reflect on the illogical and uniformed premises underlying the drug war and why we resist accepting this as a genetic issue. This genetic predisposition has been passed along by our simian ancestors and is not likely to be solved by draconian sanctions. The prison industrial complex and the pharmaceutical industry have indeed developed the perfect annuity.
